Our partner INF Nepal:
Give thanks for the newly appointed Community Programmes Associate, Esther Gurung who will work closely with the Community Programmes Director to oversee INF’s work. The Banke Leprosy Project is currently being evaluated – please pray that it proceeds in a timely manner.
Give thanks that progress is being made on the Health Project Agreement with the Nepali Government.
Our partner Shanti Nepal:
Shanti gives thanks for CEO Ben Thurley’s visit to meet and plan with Executive Committee members of Shanti Nepal. A three day workshop to prepare a strategic plan for the coming six years will take place this month for Board and Staff members. Pray for interactions with new local government officials who need to be oriented to the projects; Shanti relies on these relationships for allocation of financial resources from local government. Please also pray for an upcoming visit to Rukum where the team will be assessing the effectiveness of the Community Transformation Project and working with local staff.
Welfare Association for Children, Tikapur:
Please pray for the young people and staff leaders of Child and Adolescent Clubs (read story overleaf). WACT report that the heat and humidity of the summer has been brutal, disrupting their ability to travel and meet during the day. Inflation is also hitting families extremely hard, with all prices rising exponentially and making it difficult for families to recover from COVID-19. Pray for efforts to make contact with new officials and for all staff as they travel.
Give thanks for a new grant awarded by local government to help build the capacity of women and children. Milap will use the grant to conduct training for small business start ups, which are desperately needed as high prices and inflation impacts the community. Pray for the safety of communities in Banke and Bardiya in the midst of intense rainfall and possible flooding during this rainy season.
Elijah Counselling and Training Centre (ECTC)
Give thanks for a newly recruited team who are working within different hospitals to train staff in basic counselling. Recently the organisation received a note of appreciation recognised by the Government of Nepal, which is a significant achievement. Please pray for more new staff to minister in new areas ECTC plan to reach this quarter.
Caryn and Peter Kneale
Caryn underwent recent spinal surgery and is recovering well at home, but the earliest she and Peter will return to serve in Nepal is late July. Please pray for ongoing treatment, and give thanks for the skill of surgeons here in Australia who were able to swiftly intervene to relieve pain. Pray also for their final preparations to make the move to Nepal, and for their family, friends and Church who will support them in the move.
We’re in the middle of our most critical fundraising drive for the year, focusing on our long term work with children and young people. Please pray that hearts, minds and hands will be opened. Please visit
