In September 2024 Nepal faced an unprecedented crisis. Floods and landslides claimed over 300 lives, displaced thousands of families, and caused widespread devastation across Kathmandu Valley and Nawalparasi.

Homes, farmland, and essential infrastructure have been destroyed, leaving communities without shelter, food, or clean water. Asal Chhimekee Nepal (ACN), our local partner, mobilised quickly on the ground to provide emergency relief, but they need urgent support to continue their life-saving work.

Water in Nepal can be both life-giving and life-taking.

While the rains are essential for agriculture and livelihoods, they also cause devastating floods, landslides, and waterborne diseases.

This year's monsoon is expected to affect 1.8 million Nepalis, highlighting the urgent need for safe water solutions.

INF Australia is raising funds for WASH (Water, Health, and Sanitation) projects, in remote locations that improve access to water and sanitation and promote hygiene behaviours for positives impacts on health and development. In addition to WASH projects, INF Australia will also be focusing on three critical areas: providing disaster relief during monsoons, supplying water filters, and constructing wells and rainwater catchment systems for access to safe water.

Monsoon Disaster Relief
Excessive rainfall leads to severe flooding, landslides, and contamination of water sources. Through your support INF can assist reach those most in need.

Water Filters
Contaminated water sources increase the risk of waterborne diseases. By distributing clean water filters, we ensure access to safe drinking water reducing disease risk and improving health.

Community Water Taps
Many communities in the hills, mountains, and valley systems lack reliable water sources. By installing community water taps in remote villages,  a sustainable water supply can provide fresh water to these villages.

AUD $80: Supply a new water filter for a family.
