How can you make your donation go further?

This end of financial year, we can make your donation to INF Australia go up to six times further toward our projects, supporting more people to create more change.

It happens through our partnership with the Australian Government's NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP).

As a valued partner of the Australian Government, we receive flexible funding under the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) each year to implement development and poverty alleviation programs overseas. We have committed to contribute $1 for every $5 we receive from the Australian government.

That means every donation you make to this project will be combined with funding from the Australian Government to reach more people and create more change!

ANCP - what's the story?

Australia has a long and rich history of commitment to international aid. We recognise that although we might physically be an island, we live in an increasingly interconnected world. Addressing  global challenges and supporting sustainable development has become a shared responsibility among nations.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade oversees Australia international development program, working in various ways to make sure money is used effectively to prevent and respond to poverty.

The Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) Partnership Scheme plays a vital role in empowering communities and driving positive change across the globe.  Established in 1974, it aims to support Australian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in delivering development projects in partnership with local communities in developing countries. These projects span a wide range of sectors, including education, healthcare, livelihoods, water and sanitation, and gender equality.

How It Works:

The ANCP Partnership Scheme is a unique collaboration between DFAT and accredited Australian NGOs like INF Australia.  We receive funding from the Australian government, which is then utilized to implement sustainable development projects in targeted countries. DFAT provides financial assistance based on a dollar-for-dollar partnership arrangement, thereby leveraging the expertise and local knowledge of NGOs on the ground.

By partnering with local communities and organizations, the ANCP ensures that initiatives are culturally appropriate, demand-driven, and sustainable in the long run. The program emphasizes capacity-building, empowering local communities to take charge of their own development and drive positive change. Additionally, it promotes gender equality and social inclusion, recognizing the importance of addressing structural inequalities for sustainable development.

Number of Partners:

As of 2021, the ANCP Partnership Scheme had 59 accredited Australian NGOs working in collaboration with communities across the globe. These NGOs represent a diverse range of expertise and experience, contributing to the program's effectiveness and impact. By fostering partnerships with NGOs, the ANCP capitalizes on their knowledge, networks, and on-the-ground presence, allowing for targeted and context-specific development interventions.

What it all means:

When you donate to INF Australia for projects supported by the ANCP, you can be confident that your money is working hard, closely monitored and highly effective. This is because we are an accredited organisation with both DFAT and the ACNC.

Accreditation means that we are a trusted partner, accountable for our spend and regularly reporting on how money is used.  All of this requires investment from us as an organisation.

We're committed to the highest levels of management, transparency and accountability. This is why we employ qualified staff to oversee projects here in Australia, fundraise so we can become sustainable and report back on how your money is being used.

Should charities use all of your donation on projects in the countries you support?
